USC's English Programs for Internationals (EPI)

The Conversation Partners Program pairs EPI students with native speakers of English for conversation. This gives the EPI student a chance to meet an American and to practice English. It gives the American a chance to meet someone from another country and to broaden his/her cultural experience.

To become a Conversation Partner, you must agree to spend at least one hour a week with your partner. If you are learning a language, remember that your partner is learning English and wants to spend time speaking English.

Your EPI Conversation Partner will contact you by telephone or email. Please respond as soon as possible so that you and your partner can decide the time and the place to meet.

Many EPI students, who are here at USC solely to learn English, lack adequate conversation skills, so the native speaker of English should be willing to initiate in the relationship.

Please remember that the EPI Conversation Partners program is completely voluntary.
